'It’s like a Tardis - amazing how they pack so much wow factor into such a small space. Machins is one of my favourite British shops - up there with Neals Yard Dairy, Borough Market and Richard Woodall’s in Milom, Cumbria.
I do all my home shopping there, fish, cheeses, and meat. Their sausages are on my menus. Gorgeous well-hung pure breed beef, delicious damson red. Superb hogget and mutton, sufficiently tender to be cooked pink like roast beef.
Wonderful, helpful enthusiastic service, Ian Blandford and Machins are real food heroes. God bless them.'
